Effect of circuit training program on functional performance in children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy

Background: There is a plethora of literature with some conflicting findings on the effects implementing strength and/or aerobic training or circuit exercises to improve motor function children spastic hemiplegic cerebral palsy (CP). Circuit form body conditioning that involves endurance training, resistance high-intensity aerobics, and performed in circuit. Purpose: To investigate effect program gross functions functional capacity CP. Methods: Thirty-two CP from both genders (8-12 years) level I II based Gross Motor Functional Classification System were assigned into two equal groups (control study). The control group received selected conventional physical therapy for 60 minutes, including 35 minutes directed lower limb. study minutes. was conducted twice per week 12 successive weeks. evaluated by Function Measure (GMFM) version 66 (Domains D E) Six-Minute Walk Test (6MWT) respectively before as well after treatment period.
